Generate profitability reports, cost dashboards, and export data for stakeholder review.
Accessing Reports
Navigate to Project > Cost Management > Reports
Available Reports
Project Profitability Report
Analyse the financial health of each project:
| Column | Description |
|---|---|
| Project | Project name |
| Revenue | Total invoiced or planned revenue |
| Total Cost | All costs incurred (labour + materials + overhead) |
| Gross Margin | Revenue minus Total Cost |
| Margin % | Gross Margin as a percentage of Revenue |
Filter by:
- Date range: monthly, quarterly, yearly
- Project manager: view by team lead
- Department: group by business unit
Budget vs Actual Report
Compare planned budgets against actual spending:

| Cost Category | Labour, Materials, Software, etc. |
| Budgeted | Planned amount from the budget |
| Actual | Costs incurred to date |
| Variance | Budgeted minus Actual |
| Status | On Track / Warning / Over Budget |
Cost Breakdown by Category
Pie chart and table showing cost distribution:
- Labour costs: from timesheets
- Material costs: from vendor bills
- Software & licensing: from manual entries or subscriptions
- Travel & expenses: from employee expense reports
- Overhead: allocated overhead costs
Resource Utilisation Report
Track how effectively resources are being used:

| Planned Hours | Hours allocated in the project plan |
| Actual Hours | Hours logged via timesheets |
| Utilisation % | Actual / Planned as a percentage |
| Cost Efficiency | Planned cost vs actual cost per hour |
Exporting Reports
All reports support export:
- Click the Download icon on any report
- Select format: Excel (XLSX), CSV, or PDF
- The file downloads to your machine

Schedule recurring exports by setting up automated actions in Odoo to email reports to stakeholders weekly or monthly.
Dashboard Overview
The Cost Management dashboard home screen shows:
- Active projects with budget health indicators (green/amber/red)
- Total budget vs total spent across all projects
- Top 5 over-budget projects requiring attention
- Monthly spend trend chart
- Forecast accuracy: how close past forecasts were to actuals
